Hi I’m Christia! The CEO of The Nail Barb

My love for nails began back in 2021 when I enrolled onto my first nail course, eager to learn everything nails. In my first year as a fully qualified nail tech, I practiced non stop, slowly taking on clients to build my skill and confidence. It wasn’t always easy, and I was so nervous about going full time, and there were definitely challenges along the way but I persevered because I knew this was what I wanted to do every single day. 

I started with acrylic nails but soon realised my true passion lay in gel extensions and builder gel. As I mastered these techniques, my love for nails only grew stronger, and I discovered my favourite part of this job, NAIL ART. Playing with different colour palettes, textures, rhinestones, and unique designs allows me to express creativity in ways that make each set feel personal and fun.

Recently, I expanded my skills into hard gel nails and completed a nail educators course. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to start out without proper guidance, which is why I’m passionate about helping aspiring nail techs and even experienced techs, to master new techniques, elevate their craft and gain confidence in their skills. 

I also recently launched Pressed by The Nail Barb, my line of luxury, custom press-on nails. I created this because not everyone can make it into a salon regularly, but everyone deserves nails that are fun, expressive, and effortlessly beautiful. Press-ons let people enjoy artistry of nails on their own terms, while giving me the freedom to experiment and share designs I love. 

Every set I create, whether in-person in my studio or as a press-on set, these nails are all handcrafted with care, passion, and a little fun. That’s how I ended up here, doing what I love everyday - making nails that make people feel confident, creative, and always luxury.
